Of course you do. To prevent fire, you need to stop heat, fuel, oxygen and a chemical reaction coming together to “break the fire tetrahedron”.
The most important thing to know is that a fire cannot start or continue if one of these elements is missing.
Flip the cards below to see how you can prevent the most likely fires:
Discard cigarettes properly making sure all lit items are put out completely
Close doors and windows when work areas are not in use to prevent a possible fire from spreading
Ensure all waste is disposed of safely; this includes highly flammable materials and waste outside a building
Watch out for faulty wiring and electrical faults
Sockets must not be overloaded
Be careful with candles and don’t blow them out (unless it’s your Birthday)
Take care when cooking and do not leave chip pans unattended
Look out for curious children
If you smell gas, what should you do?

Did you get the one about electric appliances wrong?
I did so I am making an extra point. Do not operate any electrical switches at all if you smell gas. This includes light switches and electrical appliances. Do not put a light on. You want to avoid sparks if there is a possibility of gas as it could ignite and cause a fire.
