It is a vital tool which you must use each and every time you administer medication.
Final notes
Record any observations you have made, for example:
- Is the person experiencing side effects?
- Have they said something about their medication?
- Did they initially refuse the medication but then change their mind?
If a new medicine appears, but it is not recorded on the MAR sheet, check with your manager or the individual’s GP or pharmacist. You should also read the individual’s daily record in conjunction with the MAR sheet.
